Youth Leadership and Activism Conference

YouthLeadershipConf2016February 6, 2016, Salt Lake City.  A collaborative conference for youth on how to engage in civic activism and help end Utah's school-to-prison pipeline.

High school students:

  • Develop skills and increase competency in leadership and activism
  • Encourage critical thinking on issues regarding systemic oppression
  • Develop plans for affecting change
  • Understand different approaches to policy reform
  • Create actionable strategies to bring awareness to the school-to-prison pipeline


Session topics include:
Media & messaging; advocating in schools; critical thinking for affecting change; environmental factors in advocacy; civic engagement; and more!

Law and Justice Center- 645 South 200 East in Salt Lake City
This event is FREE and open to all High school students - light breakfast and lunch provided.

Registration required. (Registration closes February 3, 2016.) 

Event hosted by: Racially Just Uath, Salt Lake Peer Court, and ACLU of Utah.
