Jessica joined the team at the ACLU of Utah in October of 2014 as the Coordinator of Administration and Finance. Jessica has a passion for small changes that make large differences in an individual’s quality of life. She believes that empowering individuals and strengthening communities is the foundation of social change. With an undergraduate degree in Accounting with a focus on Gender Studies from the University of Utah and a Masters of Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from Utah State University, Jessica built the groundwork of knowledge that aids her many community-based activities.
Jessica began investing her communities while in her teens through: Salt Lake Peer Court, Utah’s Youth Summit, establishing an alliance between Salt Lake District schools which raised funds and labor for a complete Habitat for Humanity House in celebration of the 2002 Winter Olympics, and she served as the Salt Lake City School District Board of Education Student Board Member 2001-2002.
This commitment to community and social equality has extended to the present where Jessica has actively supported: Soaring Spirits Loss Foundation: Utah Widowed Connection, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Walk MS, Children’s Service Society and Tracy Aviary in the past few years. Jessica is also fortunate to serve Women of the World as a board and committee member after bringing hundreds of individuals together to celebrate One Billion Rising in 2013.
You can find Jessica in the community at local farmer’s markets, savoring all the local food that Sugarhouse has to offer or snuggling with her kittens. Jessica is thrilled and honored to be a part of the ACLU team.
