Immigration Bills Before The Governor Would Violate Federal Law

The ACLU of Utah sent a letter to Governor Herbert urging his veto of H.B. 497, "Utah Illegal Immigration Enforcement Act," and H.B. 116 Third Substitute, "Utah Immigration Accountability and Enforcement Amendments."Both of these bills directly contradict federal immigration law. HB 497 would mandate unconstitutional law enforcement practices, and HB 116 promises benefits the State of Utah cannot deliver.
