Bill to Protect Privacy of Utahns Advances in House
Posted 2/25/09 - The ACLU of Utah sent a letter to entire legislature supporting HB 325, "Opting Out of Real ID Act." If this bill passes, Utah would join 20 other states in refusing to participate in a national database and ID system that would threaten the privacy of all citizens.

Real ID Could Be A Real Nightmare for Utah
Posted 2/13/09 - The Real ID Act transforms state drivers licenses and ID cards into a national ID threatening privacy and creating a bureaucratic nightmare which could be an economic disaster for Utah. The ACLU of Utah supports HB 325, "Opting Out of the Real ID Act," sponsored by Representative Stephen Sandstrom.

ACLU of Utah Marks Six-Year Anniversary of Guantanamo Bay Detention Center
JAN 12, 2008 - As part of a nationwide campaign to call on the U.S. government to close the ignominious detention center at Guantanamo Bay, the ACLU of Utah hosted a very well-attended candlelight vigil on January 11, and will be presenting a film screening on the topic on January 30.
