Many police officers have been armed with weapons and tactics designed for battle overseas. Military weapons and equipment have been given to local police departments across the country, with very little public oversight.
Too little is known about how much military equipment Utah law enforcement agencies have, why they have it, and how they are using it. This is a problem.
It's time to talk about the true scope of the militarization of law enforcement in Utah, and the impact it is having in your cities and neighborhoods. Join us for a deliberative discussion about local use of military tools.
