Tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 26 at 8am, HB315, Human Growth and Development Instruction, will be in the House Education Committee in the Senate Office Building, Room 120, and virtually.

HB315 is a dangerous and misleading bill that seeks to force anti-abortion propaganda into Utah classrooms under the guise of health education. Bills like HB315 have gained traction nationwide, aiming to promote “Baby Olivia,” a medically inaccurate and computer-generated video of a fictional fetus throughout gestation, produced by extremists who want to control your body and that of your loved ones. Though similar policies have been proposed in other states, if enacted, HB315 would make Utah the state with the youngest age requirement—starting as early as 8 or 9—to mandate the showing of this type of video.

Note: This is a joint call to action with Planned Parenthood Action of Utah. The link above will take you to a form owned by Planned Parenthood Action of Utah.

Videos and bills like this are clearly created for a political agenda, with the goal of mandating anti-abortion content into school curricula through legislative action. Our students deserve an accurate, comprehensive curriculum that equips them to make informed, healthy decisions and build the futures they want.
