The 2026 Mickey Duncan Award winner is David W. Tufts, a shareholder and Chair of the Commercial Litigation practice group at Dentons Durham Jones Pinegar in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The 2026 Torch of Freedom award winner is the Utah Immigrant Advocacy Coalition. They work to ensure that Utah remains a welcoming and supportive place for all immigrants, regardless of status, including mixed-status families, DACA recipients, immigrant children, and young adults.

2025 has been a year that has kept us, the staff of the ACLU of Utah, incredibly busy. This year, we saw every day how defending civil rights and civil liberties in Utah is both vital and urgent. With the release of our 2025 Annual Report, you can see the impact our work made during the year.

The Disability Law Center is Utah's Protection and Advocacy Agency. Our mission is to enforce and advance the legal rights, choices, and opportunities of Utahns with disabilities.  

The 2025 Mickey Duncan Award winners are Adam Crayk and Phillip Kuck for being co-counsel on our lawsuit challenging the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for violating the rights of international students in Utah, which we won!
