Protecting Everyone's Rights in Utah

Every eligible voter deserves to have their vote counted. We all suffer when voters are blocked from voting. Our democracy thrives when every voter has an equal opportunity to have their vote counted. As voters, we can support leaders and policies that uphold and protect our rights.

A 287(g) agreement gives local police the power to enforce federal immigration law—something they normally cannot do. These agreements turn local officers into Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, fueling deportations, racial profiling, and fear in immigrant communities.

Whether you’re a new or returning volunteer, these trainings will give you the tools to speak confidently about our work and mobilize your fellow Utahns to support our efforts to protect everyone's rights.

We're looking for a candidate who will demonstrate initiative and strong interpersonal skills to mobilize and empower community members across Utah to achieve short- and long-term objectives that further the mission of the ACLU-UT. This includes fostering relationships, developing community programs, coalition building, and advocating for positive change.
