'The form launched by the Utah State Auditor encourages individuals to infringe on Utahns’ right to privacy in bathrooms and other personal spaces. This is an effort to intimidate and single out gender-diverse people, including transgender and nonbinary people - full stop.
Both H.B. 257 and the resulting form perpetuate an environment where gender-diverse people, and even people perceived to be so, are forced to endure bullying and harassment from people who feel empowered and justified by the harmful laws passed by the Utah State Legislature and enacted by Governor Cox," said Ellie Menlove, Legislative and Policy Counsel for the ACLU of Utah.
