287(g) agreements turn local law enforcement into ICE Agents. Tell Congress to defund it.
Tell Congress: No Life Sentences for Immigration
H.R. 3486, would impose extreme prison sentences on people seeking asylum, teenagers, and people trying to reunite with their families – not for violent conduct, but for the manner in which they entered the U.S. Immigrants should not be subjected to cruelty and life sentences.
STOP ICE TAKEOVER
A 287(g) agreement gives local police the power to enforce federal immigration law—something they normally cannot do. These agreements turn local officers into Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, fueling deportations, racial profiling, and fear in immigrant communities.
Tell Congress: No Troops on Our Streets
The Trump admin. has deployed thousands of National Guard and federal troops into our communities. These actions are unnecessary, inflammatory, and a dangerous abuse of power.
